How Does Dental Insurance Work?
As we endure the Thanksgiving hangover, we’d like to take another opportunity to remind our patients here in Somerset & Franklin Township NJ about maximizing their dental insurance benefits.
In case you missed our last post about any unused dental insurance benefits you may have, we are writing this reminder to help you take full advantage of any remaining insurance or flexible spending benefits you may still have coming to you in 2015.
It’s hard to believe that we’re already talking Thanksgiving, and we saw somewhere on Twitter today that there are only a few Mondays left until Christmas…and Hanukkah comes waaaay early this year.
But enough of the disbelief, let’s get into the nitty gritty of saving you money on dental health.
Before the snow starts falling here in Somerset County, please remember that if you have unused dental insurance benefits or flexible spending account funds, they will be entirely wasted come January 1st 2016.
How Does Dental Insurance Work?
Dental insurance benefits or flexible spending accounts are allotted a certain dollar amount of benefits each year to be used by the policyholder – that’s you – toward dental health care.
And as we’ve already discussed, but wasn’t really touched on in the video, is that virtually all of these insurance benefits reset each & every year.
Any unused benefits do not carry over to the next year.
A lot of our patients don’t even realize this and wind up letting hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars’ worth of insurance benefits – which they’ve already paid into – go to waste.
Although dental treatment is never recommended by your insurance policy, if you do have any treatment that remains to be completed, or if you have any dental health issues at present, you are best served by visiting our office before the end of the year.
Usually around the Holidays things get a little hectic…so after you check with your insurance provider, and if you realize you have more benefits available, call us to schedule an appointment at your earliest convenience.
The best way to take full advantage of your dental coverage is to understand your specific policy, and all of it’s features.
The best advice we can give our patients and Somerset County NJ residents is to read your benefits information before you come visit our office.
This way you will know exactly how much coverage you may still have available in 2015.
Don’t Let Unused Flexible Spending Funds or Dental Insurance Benefits Expire
If you do have remaining insurance or flexible spending coverage still available, that could mean a no-cost dental checkup, exam, teeth cleaning, filling, crown…or any number of other treatments you may be needing.
Dental insurance benefits: Use ‘Em or Lose ‘Em!
Our goal with every one of our patients is to help you enjoy great oral & overall health.
We want you to look and feel your best, and for you to enjoy the benefits of a healthy, attractive smile that lasts a lifetime.
A big part of that is having strong teeth and gums.
So remember, when the clock strikes midnight on December 31st, you will lose any unused dental insurance or flexible spending benefits for 2015.
We are happy to help you get the full benefits that you are entitled to under your dental benefits policy.
Here’s to helping you achieve excellent dental health in 2016!
